And if it's outside, we're all in. L.L.Bean is currently searching for a Senior Manager, Fulfillment Operations to join our Fulfillment team in Freeport, Maine. Position Purpose: Provides oversight and has accountability for the facility, processes, and workforce throughout the Fulfillment organization. Leads Management Team dedicated to Operational execution and drives improvement that optimizes overall Safety, Service and Cost performance. Partners with the Fulfillment Workforce Management Organization to ensure business objectives are met on an annual basis. Partners with key departments outside Fulfillment in the development and execution of tactical and strategic goals and plans related to key corporate initiatives, as well as functional objectives.


Provide a motivating organizational environment and manage area people and activities

• Establish performance objectives, assign/ direct work, monitor progress and appraise performance
• Coach and develop employees in job-related skills through work assignments, direct training, and development plans, and provide regular feedback, both positive and constructive/developmental
• Recommend and administer wages and salaries of direct reports
• Communicate company policies and procedures and resolve routine personnel problems in accordance with them
• Ensure Ops leadership establishes and maintains compliance with all appropriate health and safety protocols
  
  -- Oversee Fulfillment business plans to ensure the timely and accurate achievement of business goals for multiple processes
  • Ensure department policies, procedures and systems are communicated consistently
  • Prepare operating and capital budgets. Manage expenses within budgetary limits
  • Partner with key Departments inside and outside Fulfillment and manage external business relationships
  • Establish strategy to impact mutually agreed upon goals based upon business need and direction
  • Develop and communicate department action plans to ensure both department specific and company strategic goals are met.
    -- Plan for Continuous Improvement
    • Develop and assess policies, business plans, system technologies and goals to enhance quality and minimize cost of operations
    • Critically examine and make recommendations to continuously improve work processes. Support cross-functional work group efforts to improve efficiency of operations
    • Identify training, operational, and organizational opportunities to support company goals. Support Benchmarking and Community Representation efforts
      • Host corporate benchmarking visitors for on-site tours of Distribution
      • Maintain and promote L.L. Bean image in all corporate activities
      • Participate in and support Distribution Operations Strategic Planning initiatives
      • Perform additional responsibilities as requested Health and Safety Requirement: Every employee is responsible for contributing to a safe and healthy workplace.         Skills and Qualifications:
        • BA or BS in business related field required, MBA preferred
        • 7+ years of relevant experience required
        • Experience working in an Operational environment
        • Demonstrated critical leadership behaviors of being strategic and innovative.
        • Strong business acumen with the ability to achieve goals
        • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate employees
        • Established time management and organizational skills
        • Established interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
        • Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively to achieve goals
        • Ability to influence at various levels throughout the organization, including senior leadership
        • Dedicated team player; highly self-motivated; and able to function in a fast-paced environment
