Job Description:
We at Uncle Giuseppe's, cut our meat the old fashioned way. We
take pride in our cuts of meat, offering store front butcher
services to our customers. We are actively seeking a FT Meat
Manager for our newest gourmet location in North Babylon, NY. This
individual must be well trained in using the bandsaw, deboning
knives and all other techniques for cutting meats. Our Meat
Managers manage the daily operations of their respective Meat
Department. This individual will be responsible for providing fresh
products, excellent customer service and the overall management of
the Meat Department. This position also offers an Incentive Bonus
up to 15% Counter duties include: Arranging cuts of meat and
placing them in an attractive manner in the display case so that
customers will wish to purchase them. Weigh, label and price a
variety of cuts of meat for on-demand selections by customers in an
efficient manner that keeps customers satisfied. Using skewers,
bone knives, twine and other tools to lace, tie and shape roasts so
that they are ready for customers to buy and cook. Hands on butcher
job duties include: Receiving deliveries of meat and inspecting
them to ensure that they adhere to the highest quality standards.
Keeping records, budgets, and inventory. In accordance with Uncle
Gs strict old school cutting techniques and protocols, using meat
grinders, knives, saws and other tools to cut meat down into
smaller portions. Other duties and functions as assigned.
Responsibilities: Minimize out-of-stock and overstock to ensure
fresh merchandise. Schedule meat associates, engage in specialized
skills training, and delegate work to use talents and abilities.
Execute localized merchandising plans and follow company plans to
ensure meat department. Receive and unload incoming shipments and
price product to ensure product quality, protection and rotation.
Control department expenses by enhancing operations, meet budgeted
goals and control shrinkage and pilferage. Ensure compliance with
safety and sanitation standards mandated by state, federal and OSHA
regulations. Ensure associates run equipment safely. Comply with
state, local and government weight, measures and labeling. Welcome
and receive orders from customers. Determine Meat Department areas
for improvement and institute changes to address concerns. Manage
staff, scheduling, inventory, orders, Butchers, meat clerks and all
other operations within the Meat Department. Other duties and
functions as assigned. Requirements HS Diploma or equivalent. 7+
years of experience working as a Butcher with 3 of those years in a
management role. Requires excellent communication skills with the
ability to lead a team. Must have proven experience working in a
high volume meat department or meat store managing staff. This

moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to
frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise,
including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching,
and stooping. May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May
require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than
30 pounds with assistance. Usually in a comfortable indoor
environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment
that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be
exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or
coolers. There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp
objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and
functions. Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
