A school-based physical therapist position is available in Port Chester, NY, providing full-time coverage from April 24 to June 26 for a maternity leave assignment, as well as full-time coverage during the Extended School Year (ESY) from July 6 to August 14. This role focuses on delivering specialized physical therapy services to elementary students on the Autism Spectrum. Responsibilities: Conduct physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to students unique needs. Provide direct physical therapy interventions to support motor skills, mobility, and functional abilities. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to create cohesive, multidisciplinary strategies supporting student progress. Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes and reports in compliance with school and state requirements. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute professional recommendations. Qualifications: Licensed Physical Therapist with state licensure in New York. Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in school settings. Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and experience adapting therapy approaches to meet sensory and developmental needs. Strong communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational staff. Ability to manage caseloads and document therapeutic progress efficiently. Location: Port Chester, NY on-site in an elementary school setting.
