Job Description:
Description The Legal Project Manager/Analyst is a key member of
the Legal Operations team, responsible for supporting operational
activities for the Legal and Compliance department, driving
operational excellence across the legal function. This role leads
the full lifecycle of complex, cross-functional initiatives — from
scoping and design through execution, adoption, and continuous
improvement. The ideal candidate brings deep project management
expertise combined with strong technical acumen, thrives in
ambiguous environments, and works with internal stakeholders and
external vendors to support projects, programs and day-to-day
operations. Working with the VP and Director, Global Legal
Technology, and the Legal Operations team, the Legal Project
Manager/Analyst will: Project Management Support: Assist in the
planning, execution, and monitoring of legal department projects
from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and
alignment with objectives. Support the development of project
plans, timelines, and budgets, and track progress against
milestones. Develop project reports. Manage project documentation.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among project
stakeholders. Identify and escalate risks to project success as
needed. Technology Support and Coordination: Serve as a primary
driver for evaluating, selecting, implementing, and optimizing
legal technology solutions, including matter management, contract
lifecycle management (CLM), e-billing, document automation, legal
research platforms, and AI-powered tools. Partner with IT and
external vendors to manage technical configurations, system
integrations, data migration, user acceptance testing (UAT), and
go-live cutover planning. Act as a functional system administrator
or super-user for core legal platforms — troubleshooting issues,
managing user provisioning, and coordinating with vendor support
teams. Monitor the legal technology market and advise leadership on
emerging tools, innovations, and AI capabilities that can enhance
team efficiency, reduce risk, and lower outside counsel spend.
Knowledge Management: Support the development and maintenance of
frameworks and systems for organizing and storing legal department
information, ensuring accessibility and security as backup for
access management. Assist in creating and managing
knowledge-sharing resources, such as websites, templates,
playbooks, and FAQs. Promote a culture of knowledge sharing within
the legal team. Qualifications 7-10 years of professional
experience (or a combination of education and experience) 2-5 years
of project management experience (CAP-M or PMP certification is a
plus). Experience with legal tools and technology, including
artificial intelligence. Strong technical skills, including
proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel,
SharePoint). Strong organization, written and verbal communication
skills, with a problem-solving mindset. Strong analytical and
interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and adapt to
evolving organizational demands. Preferred Skills: Experience with
specific AI tools, including Lexis, ONIT, Microsoft Co-Pilot,
Anthropic Claude and other current and emerging AI tools and
technologies. Experience in corporate legal environments,
insurance, or financial services preferred.
