Maintenance & Facilities Assistant - Bayport, NYOur valued client located in Bayport, NY is one of the leading stocking distributors of the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical industries.-- They are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance & Facilities Assistant to join their growing team.-- This role is a temp to hire opportunity, with an hourly rate of $16-17/hr dependent upon experience.--Essential Functions:

• Works together with external contractor/vendors involved in the maintenance of building
• Performs preventive maintenance repairs, painting and building upkeep.
• Monitors and maintains kitchen and warehouse equipment
• Monitors or performs improvements as required
• Daily grounds cleanup.
• Building services including (but not limited to) janitorial, grounds maintenance, pest control, lighting, and general repairs.
• Ensures that the cleaning service, maintenance and pest control log books are accurately maintained.
• Acts as safety officer
• Snow removal as needed during winter months.
• Work side by side with other maintenance personnel--Required Skills, Abilities:
• Ability to operate warehouse machinery and small office equipment.
• Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated knowledge of facilities maintenance and custodial principles, procedures and standards.
• Ability to interact effectively with warehouse and Management personnel.
• Great attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
