Job Description:
The position as a Senior Center Attendant, will always be on
hand to address the needs of the seniors and will be supervised by
the Senior Center Director and Assistant Director. - Two attendants
will be needed, one female and one male. Employee will work 25
hours a week, from 9am to 2pm. One 15-minute break - one in the
morning and one in the afternoon.
- Proper attire is mandatory according to Board of Health and
NCOFA rules and regulations.
- Assist with taking reservations.
- Primary duties are serving, cleaning, monitoring and aiding
participants as well as making sure they are aware of and following
the rules of the center.
- Making sure participants are served in a friendly and courteous
manner.
- Back up kitchen staff when necessary.
- Assist seniors with activities.
- Monitor seniors going into the restroom and addressing hand
washing when leaving. Attendant will make sure restrooms are clean
as necessary.
- Senior Center and restrooms are to be cleaned throughout the
day.
- After meals all tables will be washed down with a bleach and
water solution and again at the end of the day along with sweeping
and mopping the floor.
- Attendant will serve coffee or tea.
- Attendant will serve meals and plastic ware to seniors at
lunchtime.
- Staff is responsible to immediately communicate information
concerning the seniors to the Senior Center Director/Assistant
Director.
- Attendant is responsible to Senior Center Director/Assistant
Director and Commanding Officers to perform any additional
assignments under their direction.
- The Salvation Army has the right to modify, add to or delete to
this job description. DUE TO COVID-19 ADDITIONAL DUTIES WILL BE
REQUIRED:
- Attendant will wear appropriate PPE attire: protective covering
for clothing, masks, and gloves. - PPE must always be worn when
assisting seniors.
- Attendant will make sure each senior is wearing an appropriate
mask correctly and make sure hands are washed or a hand sanitizer
is used.
- Attendant is responsible to make sure seniors are appropriately
social distancing.
- Attendant is responsible to give each senior their box (Names
will be on them) and assist when needed and make sure there is no
sharing of anything!
- Attendant must monitor seniors going in the restroom and
address hand washing when leaving.
- Attendant is the liaison between the participant and the
Director and Assistant Director. It's necessary that any or all
their information or their family's information regarding health or
travel issues be relayed to your supervisors.
- At the end of the day the senior center needs to be
sanitized.
- Must have a High School Diploma.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
- Must have patience and be a team player.
- Due to a soft opening, hours and days will be subject to the
needs of the program.
- A COVID-19 test is required before starting employment.
