Description:PURPOSE STATEMENT: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Quality Control Technician with a good eye for detail. In this position, you will maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, finished products, and reporting the test results. You will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the predefined standards for safety and quality. To ensure success as a quality technician, you should have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts and excellent visual awareness.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, GMPs and related systems that ensure company compliance and applicable regulationsReceive and inspect incoming raw materialsSample and release of raw materials according to SOP guidelinesInspect and release of packaging materials and finished productsSampling and sample preparation of raw materials and finished product for contract laboratory useReceiving, inspecting, releasing, storing and inventory reconciliation of all product labelsMonitoring of manufacturing and bottling/packaging-roving inspectorInvestigate customer complaints as assigned by QC ManagerProcessing, collecting, and storing RM and FP retained samplesPull and process all relabel contract jobs and bulk contract orders as assigned by QC ManagerUse of sampling and lab equipment including the Nicolet FT-iR and NIR-iRDestruction of rejected/expired materials following company SOP's and guidelines Issuance of PBR's to Bottle Room, review, and release of runsOperate forklift and other power equipment as needed Must prepare and complete required documentationPerform additional duties as assigned Requirements:KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associates degree strongly preferred in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, or ChemistryExperience as a QC or QA Technician Ability to read, write, and communicate about work instructions and safety information written in EnglishUnderstanding of basic mathematical conceptsAbility to analyze and interpret technical information Computer skills including MS office and material control programsAdvanced organizational skillsAbility to follow and interpret instructions whether written or spokenAbility to work well in a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills Punctual and reliable in work attendance PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basisOperation of forklift and other power equipment Works near moving mechanical partsVision requirements: Requires distance vision, color visions, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focusMust wear PPE and GMP appropriate for the position: non-slip footwear (boots), hair net, beard net (if applicable), nitrile food-grade glovesBlueroot Health--- is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
